Technician Leslie Ann Hawrysz, who was clinical research coordinator in foods and nutrition at Purdue, conducts a bone density scan on a student participating in Camp Calcium. The study concluded too much salt in the diet reduces bone density in both African-American and Caucasian adolescent girls.
