Yesterday morning I went into work, where I was informed in no uncertain terms just how bad I looked and promptly sent home.  I spent most of the day sleeping, lying in bed contemplating the peeling wallpaper, cracked plaster ceiling and cobwebs in the corner of the door, then sleeping some more, and occasionally rising briefly to check my e-mail and respond to anything that seemed urgent.
