Adventists still teach their children to memorize Bible verses, and one that every Adventist child can recite is Ecclesiastes 9:5: "For the living know that they shall die: but the dead know not any thing" (KJV)?it's the "proof text" for the doctrine that Adventists refer to as "the state of the dead."
